We provide scholarships that remove economic obstacles associated with competitive snow sports. Through donations, grants, and sponsorships, The Northstar Team Foundation will continue to increase funding so every athlete has the opportunity to reach their potential in sport and in life
Funds for scholarships are raised from targeted fundraising initiatives, donor-directed funds. NTF makes it a priority to raise funds for, and give out as many scholarships as possible in a given year.

Scholarship opportunities to consider
If you're looking for ways to fund your winter pursuits, Northstar Team Foundation offers two scholarship programs to help you achieve your goals.

The Fall Scholarship Program: This program is designed to provide financial assistance to current and potential Northstar Team athletes facing financial challenges that may prevent their participation. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and reside within the Tahoe Region. This application will be open in August.

Merit-Based Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to athletes who have achieved success in competition during the season. The funds are distributed in the spring and are meant to support year-round training in their respective discipline

Spring Merit Scholarship
Northstar Teams is committed to supporting athletes in reaching the peak of their sports performance. While many Northstar athletes have attained the FIS level, financial obstacles often hinder their participation. Costs such as travel, competition fees, and equipment can impede athletes from pursuing their dreams.
The merit scholarship aims to acknowledge athletes who have shown unwavering dedication to their sport. Recipients of the scholarship will be granted funds to facilitate year-round opportunities for further development. Applications will be received between March 5th - April 16th @ 5:00PM

Andy McDowell
The Andy McDowell Foundation continues the legacy of the organization’s namesake by fostering passion for the outdoors through access to snow sports for Tahoe-area youth. Any kid who is enthusiastic about time spent on the mountain should have the chance to get on the hill, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our mission is to open doors to snow sports for as many kids as possible – exactly how Andy would want it.
